Cooper is shaking Ka’s hand
Some of you might be wondering how my efforts to secure my husband’s visa to the USA have been going. Well, we’ve been busy. Yes there is, even at this late stage of the game, a Covid-19 jab mandate in place for my husband at his medical check.
I started a GiveSendGo over this process. I can give some updates regarding both the dogs and my husband’s medical exam. As some of you know I already gave at the office regarding vaccines given by the panel physician to my first husband Oh:
I was easily able to find a website that grants medical exemptions to ALL vaccines for US immigration, something which Ka should easily qualify for, but it costs $5000. For that princely sum, which is well out of my price range, I’d have to assume that palms have been sufficiently greased to assure smooth sailing. The US Embassy uses the same tried and true tactic as it has elsewhere: it provides an insanely long and ever expanding list of “required” vaccines, then grants the doctor Godlike power as all of it is at their discretion. The purpose of this I believe is a psychological one as it is for vaccine requirements to attend school: they want you to be afraid and to proactively perform the stupid human trick of going to your doctor or taking your child into their doctor and getting all of those jabs, so as to save both you and them the discomfort of requesting an exemption.
I know full well from enrolling or trying to enroll my daughters in school in the USA that the receptiveness to vaccine exemptions by administraters varies widely. When I tried to enroll my younger girl in a preschool in Las Vegas some years ago the administraters looked at me like I had grown a second head when I requested a religious exemption to jabs. They started blithering on about how the school needed 100% jab uptake and that some inspector would be checking files. I withdrew my daughter’s enrollment from that school, even though I had already met with her teacher, who called me very sad and confused a few days later about how she had been looking forward to being my girl’s teacher. I refuse to have my children in a school where such private medical decisions might be used to discriminate against her.
On the other side was the charter school that both of my girls attended in 2019-2020, where not only did they have their own special exemption form, but where I overheard the administrater explaining to a parent in Spanish language how to get jab exemptions for her child. That was a great school and one of the best ranked in Las Vegas, and it is a shame that Covid closures came in like a wrecking ball on it. This roughly aligns with an observation by an administrater at my older daughter’s school in California: “Whenever I look at the top achievers I always find a vaccine exemption in their file.” We’ve dumbed down and sickened an entire generation with this hubris.
I suspect that the discretion of those panel physicians to vaccine exemption requests has to be more lenient than before as a result of the unfolding Covid jab catastrophe. Obviously they face top down threats to keep this regime propped up but I suspect also are getting bottoms up pressure due to the continued elevated mortality. I virtually guarantee that at least a few people were injured or even died as a result of those jabs given for immigration. I believe my first husband was one of them. As I’ve told my husband Ka, even if he wanted to cave to pressure, play footsie with the CDC, and hope the jab roulette doesn’t kill him, I think there would still technically be a 30 day wait to get the second shot after the first one.
The dogs will have to stay in Phuket for the time being, methinks. If anybody knows anyone in the area who is willing to adopt or foster three pooches please spread the word. In reading through the CDC’s very confusing language regarding import permits for dogs, I was under the assumption that I could have any veterinarian give a rabies booster and microchips to my dogs, fill out the form and then I was good to go. It turns out that the only veterinarians who are willing to fill out this form are in the USA. Here the vets have to get a rabies titer test for the dogs, then you wait either 50 days or three months afterwards, then you apply for a CDC import permit. I haven’t even found a veterinarian in Phuket who is willing to do the titer test/microchip. Even Soi Dog doesn’t do it at their clinic.
Me and Cooper
I’ve been reworking a mural I painted in 2022.
So those are my updates regarding this situation. Any feedback, support, shares, prayers, advice and everything else is greatly appreciated. I am in gratitude for all of the support I have received on substack. For those who are willing to buy me a ko-fi, or a coffee, for that matter, the links are embedded. I also have velle enabled at email address genevieve318@yahoo.com and a cashapp $genevieve318.
For those who don’t know, Genevieve is my first name. But I respond to Amy (my middle name), Gen or Jenny. Even though I wrote my books under the name Amy Sukwan, they sold very poorly. This humble substack is what has allowed my name (a combination of my middle name and my husband’s last name) to bloom.
I recognize that I am very poor at asking for help. I come off as a charity case and don’t sell a value proposition. The vast majority of my writing on substack is unpaid and I prefer my work to be open to everyone. I had one person early on who made known to me that they wanted their donation to be anonymous, so I never even did shout outs to my paid subs or ko-fi contributers. But I do say a prayer in the name of all of my genorous donors.
If you are unable or unwilling to provide financial support, you do not owe me any explanation nor do you need to feel guilty about it. Take this bible verse to heart:
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."
How do we create a society where financial force is not used to compell compliance to evil? My budget contains an overwhelming degree of administrative expenses…
Do the SPCA help bringing dogs ? 🤷♀️ Or any rescue dog. 🍀
Do you keep more $$ with the ko-fi or GiveSendGo option?
