I think love is a helluva drug. I do have some updates on the personal situation mentioned in my Friday Funnies. I wonder how Daisy and Shadow the dogs are doing…
Speaking of being held hostage, things seemed to have improved markedly in my husband’s situation, other than one very concerning detail. I initially did not send him money: I really didn’t have it at first, but after picking up some food deliveries and transfering funds $50 or so was in my account last night.
The delaying tactic seemed to work out very well. I also asked about the missing motorbikes and mentioned how we should have notified the police about that. The tone changed and brother Tee and Ka went to work for some friend painting the outside of this house and then building something else. Tee seems to recognize that I like photographic proof, so he sent me this picture from Ka’s phone. My husband is still wearing my same blue shirt as 3 or 4 days ago so I’d have to guess he has no other clothes:
My husband facetime called me at 7:00 AM PST, so it would have been 10:00 PM Sunday night to him. Brother Tee was conspicuously absent from the video chat I had with him, which was very odd. Since this started when I have talked to Ka brother Tee is literally hovering in the immediate background hanging on every word, which has mostly been Ka telling me he doesn’t have money and asking me to send him some while I explain that I can’t and stall for time and information. It has felt awkward, forced and downright scary.
The mood was completely different this time. My husband smiled broadly and walked me through the new house he is staying in, which he says is in Baan Kian. It is a very large house, though it is very sparsely furnished. Ka explained that Tee has been sick, which could mean he is detoxing from yaba. I have witnessed this before his withdrawals are brutal: all he does is eat, sleep and shit for several days. It usually happens because Tee has borrowed his limit from friends and associates and no longer is able to shake down the family to fund his habit either. He’s at the end of his rope and his girlfriend from September appears to be long gone.
I asked Ka, who seemed to be completely alone in this large unfurnished house with freshly painted walls, when he was going back to the bungalow. He said the new friend has more work for him to help build this farm, so not yet. This all sounded like a very happy resolution to this situation except for one deeply concerning detail: Ka showed me his left hand on video.
“I burn earlier. Accident.” He dismissed this.
The burn on the palm of his hand was circular and between 1 1/2 and 2 inches in circumference. It was already blistering up. My husband should absolutely seek immediate medical attention for it and a burn of that size would be excruciatingly painful. I could not believe that my husband was smiling when he had started the video chat.
Having suffered minor hand burns from say kitchen mishaps and once from moving a log where the fire spit up at me, I can tell you that this did not look accidental. We all learn painfully from early childhood to not touch hot things and no amount of drugs or alcohol will compel you to keep your hand there for long. Rather than looking accidental this looked like someone had forcefully held my husband’s hand down on say a hot burner. It was just too large of an area, and an odd place at the base of the palm, for me to come to any other conclusion.
I quietly wired Ka the $50 I had, even though it was a Sunday late night with nothing open. Neither of us spoke about it I simply opened the laptop, showed him the Moneygram screen on chat, and he wrote the information down on paper. Perhaps this burn was accidental somehow and everything is going very well otherwise. Ka could have tripped and landed on some hot coals, say. On the other hand that $50 might be the difference beween life and death. We shall see.
You might be wondering, if this situation is dire, how my husband’s immigrant visa to come to America is going. Jeffrey Tucker at Brownstone did a writeup on this today. Being in the middle of it I will add my own commentary to what was written:
“Consider, for example, the continued requirement that any legally immigrating person coming to the US from another country and seeking residency is absolutely required to get the Covid-19 vaccine, a shot widely admitted not to protect against infection or spread and is associated with injury on a scale without pharmaceutical precedent.
And yet the US government requires it.
The evidence is here from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Note the language: “to prevent the following diseases.”
That is completely untrue. You cannot make it true simply by claiming that it prevents something. It does nothing of the kind, despite its moniker of being a vaccine.”
Jeffrey Tucker tries to make the case that the other vaccines on the list are better. I call BS on the whole program, but I recognize the strategy of chipping away at this fraud from the weakest foundational point of Covid jabs first.
“It is generally not possible to avoid the requirement. You can appeal for a religious exemption, which involves several rounds of correspondence and documentation. They have variously been granted after much headache, bureaucracy, and expense. Very few will go to the trouble.”
This is absolutely true. The form to exempt due to religious opposition to one or more vaccines has an AVERAGE 36 month processing time, i.e. three years, costs $910 to file, and has no guarantee of approval. In Thailand I have yet to find a way to get to that point: they claimed Ka’s medical check by the panel physician was required first, but in order to see that person he must have at least one dose of the Covid vaccine.
“Meanwhile, the US is currently experiencing a wave of immigration from asylum seekers which this country has never seen in raw numbers before. There is no requirement that these people coming across the Southern border and then shipped around the country face any such requirement of Covid vaccination. That only kicks in if you seek to immigrate the old-fashioned way, which is to say, by seeking legal permission…
The Biden administration attempted to impose such mandates on the whole of the private sector. The Supreme Court blocked that measure in January 2022. So most were repealed. But the one for legal immigration stayed, and has not been challenged in court.
There is a darker way to understand this policy move too. It serves as a filtering mechanism. Many people around the world were fleeing shot mandates from their home countries. Adding this one to the list of required injections was a way to signal to the world: the US would not provide any sanctuary to shot refuseniks, so don’t bother even trying.
It also operates as a culling mechanism against anti-lockdown and anti-mandate opinions. It assured that the US would not be allowing people to work here who think for themselves, look at evidence, or otherwise refuse to bow to the pharma agenda.
The CDC further elaborates on the regulation: it must be within 12 months and it does pertain to children too. There is a narrow range of exemption for repeated shots but that requires additional paperwork.
There is simply no basis for this mandate at all. The vaccine is not efficacious in the normal sense of that term. Nor is it necessary for healthy adults, much less children, who face a near-zero risk of medically significant outcomes. There is the additional peculiarity that whatever immune response occurs from the shot fades quickly, and ever less pertains to the existing strain in the community of this fast-mutating virus.
In other words, there is nothing defensible about this policy at all. It is keeping untold families apart and preventing US citizens from moving to the US with children and spouses from other countries who decline the shots. They have worked to get back but the vaccine mandate here bars them from doing so. Sadly, there are few in Congress willing to take up the causes and do something about this.
It’s the sort of rule that is enforced with no rationality at all but which benefits powerful pharmaceutical companies. The issue has been barely covered in the media at all, and there are currently no real efforts ongoing to push back because the victims are powerless and much of the world has moved on.
Meanwhile, this Covid vaccine is being gradually added to every list of requirements that is available, from immigration to the childhood schedule to school attendance. This is despite how the shot has completely failed to perform up to the promise of the first year. This is fully known by vast swaths of the world’s population, and yet US bureaucracies persist in their impositions without the slightest sense that they ought to acquiesce to the reality that everyone knows.”
I am thrilled that Jeffrey Tucker has taken up this cause, as it is true that nobody has really paid attention to it. There is a grave injustice involved in the fact that completely unvetted people pour over the Southern border while we are on our fifth year of visa drama and my husband since 2019 has not been allowed to legally set foot in the United States. Meanwhile he may or may not be a hostage of the Thai mafia. Sigh.
These policies destroy families. But they are going to keep repeating the lie until we forget that they lied to begin with and just go along. It doesn’t matter wht the original made up reason was. They will keep the jab mandate with these wedge cases that don’t affect that much of the population personally. We’ve been taking off our shoes at airports for how long now?
I can let that one pass but not on these matters of life and death.
“You are one lovesick puppy.” My daughter Eliza quipped to me a few days ago. Indeed. The only time I can ever delude myself about leaving my husband is when he is right next to me. I’m praying that he’s okay.
Round four coming up soon, methinks…
I'm sorry for what you are dealing with Amy. Grave injustice, yes. Anti-human policies. How else can we interpret the stupidity and cruelty?
I pray the situation improves for you and your husband, and the whole planet. Best. You are so strong.
Thanks for the update, and the 'splanations...so much to contend with..
