Can We Set Up a Las Vegas Sideline on Medical Emergencies During the Big Game?
The Superbowl is starting shortly, which is normally an event that I do not care at all about. I haven’t watched a minute of it in at least a decade!
But I got impromptu invited to a Superbowl party last night and I think I’m going to check it out. I have to assume they’ll have it on in the background!
The party is being hosted by some faith based Church group of recovering addicts. I haven’t been to anything remotely Christian since the pandemic started. I am very curious how the vaccine question divided the faithful. A lot of Christian religious leaders made it sound like it was a moral duty to get the jabs. Some like my mother prayed for guidance from a higher power and reached the opposite conclusion.
Can we start a side bet on the odds of a medical emergency during the Superbowl? I’ll go with 1 in 10 odds of a fan emergency, 1 in 30 odds of a support staff emergency, 1 in 50 of a medical event during the halftime show and 1 in 100 odds of another player collapse during the actual game. I think all of the above are actually unlikely, but I’d say they are a lot more likely than they used to be! My bigger questions is does it seem to be getting better or worse with that stuff? What do you think?
Let the show begin!

I will return to regularly scheduled programming next time…
I had dinner with about ten Thai people last night and one of them talked about how he lost short-term memory after the vaccine. He joked around about it and everyone smiled, but it's chilling to think about. He was in his fifties.
I know another Thai man in his 70s and went with him to a government office where he was transferring control of his property to his daughter - since the shot he's become sort of out of it, mentally.
A third Thai man I've mentioned here before, an imam, has had constant head aches since his vaccination. We brought two big Costco bottles of Tylenol when we moved here, but of course they haven't helped. Last week I was in the car with him, and he was driving, and he started complaining about a big headache coming on. It's concerning to be around.
The heart attacks and strokes are very dramatic and are hard to hide because they involve doctors and hospitals, but I wonder how many of these neurological injuries there are. None of these men ever went to a doctor.
You're just in time for the big game. Thanks to you I found the 'I' in TEAM where I thought it was all along, in the big A**, (for Apple of course)..
