Yes it does remind me of Columbine which for me was the first one that really propelled school shootings into the public radar. The police (non) response never sat well with me there either though I was more willing to go with the cops are incompetent coward bullies on that one, both because there were two shooters and it was a "new" phenomena (not really: for history buffs out there do you know what the deadliest school massacre in US history was? It was in Bath, Michigan, in 1927, when a disgruntled superintendant set off two bombs, killing 38. Nothing new under the sun). I don't think protocols were really in place on active shooter training at the time. It's not just the thug small town cops though: it's the unlocked door, the shooting outside for 12 minutes which somehow went unchallenged, and the constantly changing story on a lot of details. Also the using it for political objectives right away: Castro lookalike Trudeau is already on a Canadian gun grab. Even if the story went down as said, a logical person would have to conclude that more people should be armed to protect themselves, not the opposite...
