I took a course in logic in university. One of our required texts was "How to Lie with Statistics". One of the best courses I took, along with other first year philosophy classes.
One thing I remember of premises is "assume the opposite and if you are led to a contradiction, then your premise is false." Not always easy to do as there can be many confounding factors when studying something like human health, economics and human motivations.
I think we are reaching a point where premises about health are starting to show their contradictions. As RFK Jr. noted in his book, the incidence of childhood disease is increasing, not decreasing, so one of our premises is false. There could be many factors contributing to this, but certainly one that should be investigated is the quackcines.
We can go deeper than that as well and investigate whether or not pathogenic viruses exist. This has been in dispute for a long time, and yet, with all the scientific advances, there is still reason to doubt. "Where is the virus" has been asked about HIV, and the same question is now gaining steam about SARS-COV-2.
When science gets sidetracked by money, power and ego, those who value science for its quest to find truth lose and those who use it for their own purposes win.
Money is not the problem, as it is a medium. Human values drive what money is used for. We need a shift in human values, not a shift from human to transhuman.
There are countless assumed premises: one, for example, is of human progress. History is written chronologically in a way that assumes this ever onward and upward progress, perhaps with some hiccups along the way, which is probably why it is considered so boring to many students. Yet cyclical generational patterns (i.e. fourth turnings) explain events too (i.e. hard times breed strong men, strong men make good times, good times make weak men, weak men make hard times). The 20th century had the greatest genocides in history. Do we really know that everyone was stuck in a cave with an average lifespan of 28 way back when?
RE: Injectiongate. This is not a direct overlay, but it's close.
It occurs to me that what you are framing as the "premise", I have been framing as "the root lie".
And I have been describing the "inference" in "a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not always a square" classification type paradigm.
It's an exploitation of a pattern recognition shortcut in the human brain, which we discussed a bit on your conspiracy theory post also. We rely on that shortcut, otherwise we would all be re-learning everything all the time. But it can and is exploited.
Yes it is exactly the same as a root lie at least according to injection gate and my examples above. A premise does not need to be a lie, however. A lot of premises are true. What they have done with increasing sophistication in the past several decades is push false premises onto the population, repeat it ad nauseum, and eventually everybody just knows it's true so they take the logical shortcuts of going along with the conclusion that the elites want anyways, even to the point of judging others who don't conform with it (bad person! You drove your gas guzzling SUV across the United States and didn't spay your pets!). Now the argument turns really stupid and delves into personal attacks and infighting, backhand gossip and isolation. One premise they're trying to change in real time is facemasks: any serious study of the matter shows they are useless and dangerous. But wave after wave of propaganda about how they are protective and benign (just like wearing pants!) and people will start being shunned for not wearing them. Always find the premise
I would also add that the premise that the premise is either a lie or truth as a binary is a flawed premise.
And I'm not trying to be contrarian or clever!
Complex issues are going to have elements of truth, and I guess what is now referred to as "context" by the Big Tech censors/minders.
So they are right, up to a point. And that point is when they themselves are revealed to be avoiding context. (ex. the Spotify Covid Hub for "balance". That is so grossly distorted that it is in fact a LIE. The unanimity of thought as promoted is itself a context free LIE.)
The unanimity of thought is the context free lie! So true! Real science moves and changes based on updated information. There might have been a big pet overpopulation problem decades ago for example, but I'm not seeing it on the ground here and now. There might be some vaccines that have overall benefit. Maybe CO2 is destabilizing (it certainly makes plants grow better in greenhouses). The consensus is the real lie...
Great article and use of non sequitors! I learned about non sequitor statements in a podcast last night titled: Logical Fallacies. Verbal abuse and conversation busters are rampant in these times of divisiveness, deception and derision.
Regarding pet spaying/neutering and vaccinations... it is the same Big Pharma which profits from domestic animal medical practices as from human ones. Agricultural animals as well; they are all 'managed' by Big Pharma. For truth about rabies vaccine: https://whatreallymakesyouill.com/

This is amazing stuff, Amy!

Excellent, provocative piece.

True story there! I'll check it out...
