Pepperoni, Sausage, and Mushroom with Extra Cheese... great memes!

I obviously order far too much from Amazon. The $290,000 book was hysterical!! I'm looking at kitchen towels today. I bought some Martha Stewart towels from Marshalls or Ross and only used them to dry my hands in the kitchen. The glassware and plate-drying towels are separate. Well, lo and behold, I've recently learned that Martha's weird all-cotton thick towels with a rough surface on one side and smooth on the other is the ticket to the quickest drying I've ever done. Who knew? I want more.

My all-time fav pizza is pepperoni, black olives, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, extra mozzarella, and a layer of parmesan on a thin crust with garlicky tomato sauce. None of that anise-flavored Italian sausage for me.

By rectum? OMG. I bet that soda feels real good there. How about some hydrogen peroxide for a thorough cleansing?

"Hitler leaving the chat." I must admit...I'm surprised that the Trump administration has allowed people who have sworn eternal vengeance on them to participate in Signal chats and work at NSC (per Laura Loomer today).

Tariffs? I was surprised by how much we must pay other countries. The tariffs don't bother me. Will we likely incur higher prices? Yup. Will they disrupt international trade? Likely. I'm sanguine at this point in my life. Most of the machinations of government is theater with little regard for the average person.

I have nothing personal against China except that they've dictated the conditions for manufacturing and trade since the 1990s, and I think their time is up. I'm sick to death of cheap Chinese-produced products. Frankly, if these tariffs could see a return to better produced products, I'd be in 7th heaven. But. But I think cheap, throw-away products are here to stay. Besides being sanguine, I'm highly jaded, too.

Anise/fennel is a big turn off for my taste buds 🤮. One wrong bite and the rest of the meal is tainted. I hear ya! Kinda like taking the first bite of hot pizza and it scorches the roof of your mouth. Game over.

The tariff thing is a bit complicated and sounds like it has more to do with trade imbalances . Thailand got hit pretty hard (as did most places). I've read enough weird arguments about whether some tariff act applied in 1930 caused the Great Depression or lessoned its effects enough to know that I don't know, so I'm not going to claim any expert status regarding these things.

I still think we're more looking at the psychology of how to sell price increases and economic hardship to Trump supporters and still have them feeling like their team is "winning."

Oh, definitely, Amy. As I've often said, I like some of Trump's actions and many I don't. Much of Trump's administration is high theater. One example--why can't RFK, Jr. simply rescind the declaration of a Covid pandemic which was extended until 2029? WTF? He says the "pandemic's" over and wants to withdraw those funds allocated for "Covid." Fine. I agree. I don't have a problem. But then he extends the declaration of a pandemic? ???????

I read somewhere that RFK Jr now alone has unilateral authority to stop the Covid jabs. If that is true why hasn't he done so?

Honeybee's avatar

I don't know, Amy. Very, very disappointing. Two aspects of life appear heavily protected and furthered by the Trump Administration thus far: the Covid jabs and Israel/Zionism. Perhaps RFK, Jr. is moving slowly and will eventually expose all. We can only hope. The jabs are dangerous and need to be immediately withdrawn from the market and mRNA therapy stridently discredited.

In my daydreams, all those people who called for "the unvaccinated" to be forcibly vaccinated; to be confined to home; to suffer job loss; and, essentially, to "disappear" would be brought out into the streets and placed in pillories like early days in America. They should be shamed and shunned. I thinking of people with platforms like Howard Stern, Arnold Schwazenegger, Gene Simmons, all talking heads on TV, the lady Chinese researcher who wanted to put everyone who was unvaccinated into gulags, etc.

Rocket lettuce, garlic and some great aged parmesan sprinkles. Unfortunately there's no 5D chess move when the US has outsourced the great majority of it's parts and manufacturing since the 80's / 90's, and oh, most are brain damaged after that warped speedy thing, while too many once healthy people are dying and getting sicker as I write. Oh, wait, maybe Elon will have his Optimus robots ready in 2026! and then we can get saved and put who's left of us on digital UBI so we can finally eat some MAHA cricket and other fake food that will somehow heal and made everything better again. And AI can bring back all my dead family and friends so I won't feel sad at all! Oh wait, the farmers, well, we won't need them with Optimus robots and more! The vaxxed veggies and non fart fake meat will be glorious. Gosh, Bill, Elon, Larry, Mark, Jeff and company are almost saviors. All the solutions the tecnocrats are helping us with!

Thanks Amy. I do need some baking soda. Usually I just drink lemon water, good to know other things will correct pH.

I keep baking soda on hand and use it. Lately I've been digging in to the miticondria metabolic theory of cancer (which would apply to a lot of other ailments as well) whereby disfunctional mitochondria are unable to produce enough oxygen, which in the case of cancer lead to cells using a sugar fermentation process for energy instead. It has a lot of merit and is unsurprisingly linked to EMF as well. 5G is a known oxygen thief....

Onion. Just onion! Green or calamata olives occasionally. I keep it simple. It will be interesting to see what happens to the price of imported wine. What they charge in the USA is already 3-400% higher than purchase price... guess the days of making big money in the import/export business are over.

It sounds a little more like a cheeseburger than a pizza but carry on! I have yet to find another anchovy fan on my stack…

Now, add a Caesar salad, and the anchovy paste in the dressing is amazing.

Pepperoni 🍕 For the record, I have lived in NE Pennsylvania my entire life and I have never seen or even heard of anyone put corn on pizza. Never. Not even on a menu.

Expand full comment
Amy Sukwan's avatar

Yeah I saw PA and West Virginia with the corn thing and I was scratching my head too at that, along with Minnesota with tuna. Now when I lived in California avocado was becoming popular on these sort of often gluten free salad pizzas, so that is at least believable…but thanks for chiming in. Now Thailand has some strange things on pizzas including practically every type of seafood you can think of and I suppose I have seen corn on pizza before. But is it the most popular topping? Not at all…

The Trump-Musk meme really tickled me - it would severely rock the boat if I forwarded that to just about any chat group I'm in today. Also the Keanu Reeves inference that we all feel like we've aged 20+ years since 2020 without actually turbo-ageing from the injection is accurate!

Pizza-wise, I echo Heather B but it has to be sourdough...

I love sourdough it’s my favorite bread by far but isn’t often offered as a pizza option. I’ve seen that meme shared multiple times in some contrarian spaces. So far it looks a lot like what I said at the outset: they wanted people on the right cheering on mass firings of government workers (plus their replacement with AI which is even worse) mass degradation of consitutional protections under the whole immigration charade (which ushers an ever tighter papers please dystopia for all, plus normalizing extraordinary rendition/loss of trial or hearing as okay) and perhaps even willing to stick with Trump through economic crisis. So far I’d prefer to be proven wrong…

Comments I've seen on popular stacks here and Zerohedge encapsulate the dialectic you describe. Commenters proclaiming they are willing to pay more for goods in the US as short-term pain for a 'US reset' (great reset anyone?!) and refuse to see issues with billionaire technocrats infiltrating the administration either. RFK Jr is still playing 5-D chess, apparently, even though he says he is pro vax, shills the measles vax, and encourages parents to follow the CDC vax schedule. I give up trying to reach people privately. I will just continue to document it and write about it as I see it. We would all like to be proven wrong, and I'd be the first to eat humble pie if that's the case, but it ain't looking likely. I believe your stack was the first place I read something like 'Has Trump been chosen to steward over the economic collapse / controlled demolition of the States' - I believe the answer to that is a resounding YES. Peggy Hall is doing great work writing about all this:

Grew up with my Italian grandmothers pizza every Saturday. I never saw mozzarella until I was fifteen, in a local pizza joint with friends, and this disgusting thing was served, covered with this goo, and vegetables! Her pizza was thick, that dough risen twice, and then her tomato sauce, spices, and Locatelli cheese. That’s a kind of pecorino Romano. That’s it. I miss it. I can only get it like that if I make it myself.

Exactly what is being referred to here?

There is not much "same same" with Trump. Here is an article to summarize some accomplishments:

This man is making wonderful progress in restoring our unique Constitution Republic. Do I agree with everything? No, of course not. But much progress is being made. Let's celebrate it and support it when we can. The resistance that keeps coming against him would have crushed me long ago.
