My Monday Morning Meditation from Wat Muang Mai: perhaps the fact that Daylight Savings still persists in the USA, despite it being widely disliked and serving no purpose, exemplifies the whole system being resistant to real change:
From being in Las Vegas around the winter solstice I have an observation. The sun was rising there at around 6:00 AM and setting about 4:30 PM, based on local time. I don’t think America should get rid of Daylight Savings Time: I think they should embrace the Spring forward later hour, all year long.
Think about it. That hour of daylight from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM doesn’t accomplish much. People usually get ready for school or work between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, when the sun is already up. But on the other side, an extra hour of light between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM would be massive. People wouldn’t be driving home through rush hour traffic in the dark. The energy savings from not turning on lights until an hour later in the active early evening hours would be huge. And on an international scale, since nobody else does daylight savings, it wouldn’t make a darned bit of difference. What do you all think?
Mickey Z shared a few memes that I liked:
I love jokes that make more sense on paper than any other way to tell them:
I hate when this happens:
Patrick came up with this one based on my maskers war analogy. I like it!
Two videos I saw shared by Citizen Satirist I found equally funny:
Hope you all had a great Sunday wherever you are or were…
That CIA distraction one... loved it! A long time ago I got a call out of the blue from a head hunter telling me it was probably a good time for a step up and a career move. And after a few minutes conversation I asked him where he got my name. When he gave me some dumb "I never reveal my sources" answer - I knew he was just trying to get me out of the territory. I was doing fantastic damage to the competition. LOL! So fun when your intuition kicks in!
The Elmo cocaine one broke me. 😅
Amy, these meme posts are so fun.
