Some days ago an old friend from Toledo cyber introduced me to a friend of hers who had been talking about moving from America to Thailand. I field questions a lot from people as I’ve been branded as a person on the ground who has been there done that regarding living in the Land of Smiles. Some curious types ask about the food, the weather, or the culture while others, perhaps a bit more advanced in their thinking, want to know about visas to stay in Thailand, business or work opportunities or other aspects of regulatory compliance. Some want to know about a specific location in Thailand they have their sights set on perhaps due to a work or housing opportunity. A few have been in relationships and want to know about Thai people in the language of love.
I can usually ferret out quickly who is serious about wanting to come or stay here and who is just shooting the breeze. In this case the man immediately wanted to know about the healthcare system in Thailand. He had some operation he needed and was also on some prescription medicine. On an out of pocket basis the healthcare is better and cheaper than the USA of course but I told him that if he wanted a specific operation he would probably have to pay for a package in advance. I explained that I had had both of my surgeries in Thailand, both with excellent outcomes as both me and the baby survived relatively untraumatized, with a cost around $1400 each time.
The man then started on a diatribe about how he’d have to talk to the US Embassy about paying for his surgery and prescription medicine. “I’m sure the US government has some type of program where they take care of American citizens on this stuff.” He told me. I realized then that this man was not serious at all about coming here.
It blows me away that any American still thinks that the US government is going to take care of them, but in the current welfare-warfare administrative economy, sometimes that is the case. If this man was say on Medicare and was already getting his prescriptions and surgery covered by the State then it doesn’t make sense for him to come to Thailand. Other people are burning through 30K deductibles and bankrupted by medical expenses in America and I can’t fathom why they wouldn’t come here. In some cases the medical procedure is simply not covered. But as we all know it is far easier to talk about making a big change than it is to actually do it. For individuals and governments alike it seems only crisis forces it.
In these trying times the best we can do is wean our dependencies and try to find a way. When talking to those curious about Thailand I can usually hear a point in a conversation where the talk moves to either Why I Can’t Do This or How Can I Do This. There wasn’t much more to say with this man. Perhaps only when the system collapses will he well and truly realize that the US government is not going to take care of him.
If this is the case I’d say that we have a big problem with ghosts right now!
They all should be felons. I’m just saying
I hope Toby Rogers is correct…
But it’s the incentive system that worries me when they roll this all out again. It’s hard for people to change jobs/careers, change relationships, change locations or change habits. When they all roll out to enforce the mass culling of chickens or refuse to allow you to board a plane, what happens next?
I suspect that financial collapse is what will bring it all down. As more people wake up to the lies it becomes more costly and difficult for the state to enforce its edicts. They need some degree of internal policing through belief in their narrative. The best you can do is tend to your own garden…
And perhaps learn where your food comes from:
I saw these mushrooms at a local market here in Thailand and purchased some. My husband said he has never seen this kind in Phuket. A Thai friend made them into a lovely broth but…does anyone know what they are?
Sometimes you just have to try something out to know…
Curse you and your memes 🤣
Several comments, Amy. You're absolutely correct. The most damning aspect of the American psyche right now is that they think .gov will aid or assist them in any manner. They will not. The best route is to divorce oneself as much as possible from their enterprise. Admittedly, most of us older remain connected financially with the system, but those younger can make other plans and take other routes to which I would urge them.
The reason the current regime has unlimitedly imported millions of illegal immigrants is that they come from countries where socialist thought prevailed (although failed). They're conditioned to think the .gov will give them support and sustenance. Their whole aspect and attitude approaches their entry in this manner. "I came here: give me my debit card and place to live." They will easily convert to UBI and 15-minute cities. They will be the population in those cities, and they will be extremely compliant. They will likely feel duty-bound to volunteer for experimentation with transhumanism and their bodies.
I've already said elsewhere in substack that the sudden and unexplained transmission of diseases from animals to humans is a psyop. I lived years and years without encountering disease transmitted from animals. There is none. Essentially, there is none.
Moreover, the financial collapse will occur when the conditions are optimum for the Banksters. Right now, their military, the U.S. military, is fulfilling their role of gross destabilization and mass murder throughout the world so don't look for the collapse anytime soon. Just look for cause and effect. That's what I learned from my Buddhism of 40+ years.
