I am deeply indebted to the funnies for giving me my start in life. I believe they created my value system, my sense of humor, and possibly influenced my dress code.

LOL I seemed to be in second place behind Your Mom on that poll, albeit with smaller numbers, but the results were noted. I wanted to share that post but also had an extra helping of memes I'd harvested so I thought to put that all together, plus both you and Patrick made note of not being in the original poll. It's not a contest its a collaboration!
As my car is officially broke down plus 115 degree days aren't really that fun I've been meaning to turn more of my attention to Substack. I just worry I'll saturate people's inboxes!

How funny! I've been thinking about newspapers recently. Nothing was more luxurious than getting the big, fat Sunday paper and spreading the entire roll over your couch or bed for reading. The comics were always one of my favorite sections. I took time to read various sections. Looked at the Want Ads and things for sale. The Sunday paper was the demarcation which made you feel you were actually on your week-end completely divorced from your life at the office. So relaxing. Just sheer luxury.
Today, of course, I read everything on computer. Nothing resembles those early years. The computer is quicker and provides far more information, but the state of being or life is gone. I do feel far better informed, but because I read so extensively, I usually scan articles for new information only. A writer several years back advised always to skip 2/3 of the article and begin with the new information which is almost always presented at that point in the article. He was 100% correct. In essence, I'm simply acquiring a level of cogency and command with as little time as possible.
I realized yesterday that I've never played video games--which seemed pointless to me as I've tried a few (not casting dispersions on others because we're all different and need different things)--because world events since red pilling have become a huge 3D video game. No one is who they seem. More shadows lurk in the Realms of Control than we can visualize. After Covid, we all know that our world can change in a mega-second beyond what we could have imagined.
Today's world is controlling, mother smothering, trite,and yawningly boring at times in one sense but in another vital. It's vital that we know events so we can assess the best place we need to be at what time.
Yet, I wish I had those days with the Sunday paper back. Life felt real then.
Love the meme's! I've stolen a few from you! The silhouette of the untrained electricians' boots on the concrete is very funny! I worked in a steel mill's motor room, and we had switch gear that one had to put on an insulated blast suit to "rack in", or "rack out" switch gear, for power to the motors the size of two car garages! I recall at the BOP Shop, seeing a tundish that said '235 Tons + 1 man"!
