Me and Ka were married on November 1, 2019, so it's been over five years. The sheer length of time now bizarrely plays in his favor as the first two years of legal marriage are vetted differently by immigration: during that time they are often scrutinizing the bonafides of the relationship and any visa to the US remains dependant on the US citizen spouse and the immigrant staying together. After two years of legal marriage, regardless of where the marriage took place conditions are then removed and the immigrant simply becomes a US permanent resident with a 10 year green card. If he gets this visa at this point Ka could come to the USA, divorce me the next day and stay as long as he wishes. Within two years he would be eligible for US citizenship.I don't think that's happening but we're long past bonafides of marriage scrutiny.

The May-December marriages are often assumed to have some aspect of illegitimacy to them, but money talks. A lot of people, as was true of my first husband Oh, find that America is not all that it's cracked up to be. They work in some instances but not in others.

I'd wonder why this 75 year old wouldn't just want to stay in the Phillipines...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I wax loquacious because I'm on my third glass of champagne. I only drink champagne at Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and sometimes July 4. I'm going, after posting this comment, to make my Rachel Ray Cream of Mushroom soup du jour. I'm using marsala and dry white wine with chicken broth. I'm still watching and waiting, as I unpack boxes and repack for my move next year, for my Bon Appetít recipe from years ago which used only dry white wine and was so fabulous you could die and go to heaven.

Every time I enter my kitchen and look at the wonderful food I have to prepare, I feel blessed. I give deep thanks. I intimately thank each ingredient. The mushrooms. The soon-to-be chuck roast soon to be Marco Pierre White's Boeuf Bourguignon with Wild Mushrooms. Yes...two years ago Marco taught me how to really cook for the first time in my life. The pan must be so hot that your smoke alarms go off. You drag out the fans plus engage the ceiling fans while opening up the doors hoping soon the noise will abate because you've got 30 minutes of braising left to do. I don't use wild mushrooms-- baby Bellas suffice.

The dipping sauce for turkey, which it greatly needs, is a homemade gravy. The best gravy I ever made, I must acknowledge, was Martha Stewarts's gravy. Of course, I had to take the turkey parts from the turkey (neck, etc.) plus scavenge other turkey parts from the old Whole Foods before Amazon acquired them. The gravy was off the charts but a lot of work.

Btw, your ghost phone is being powered by your guardian spirits, Amy. Just thought you might like to know. You're protected.

"The US Embassy’s request in this case felt like they were running out of things to say no to." That's why I said you'll be getting the visa soon.

I howled in the night at the first meme. That is so me!! "When you were looking for a recipe but ended up browsing for 7 hours and now 9/11 is definitely an inside job." In fact, the cat actually looks like me!

My latest is the "revelation" that David Rockefeller pimped Anneke Lucas under the tutelage of (gasp!) Evelyn de Rothschild who just died...but not soon enough. Evelyn was Epstein's handler. https://rumble.com/v5t52nb-evelyn-de-rothschild-and-david-rockefeller-named-in-elite-sex-trafficking-o.html

What I like about Anneke is that she actually gives you a framework of her mindset which shows us how she coped and survived the trafficking. I read portions of her book on PDF.

Somehow, although "we knew" already, having her testify and admit these persons as her abusers places everything in a different light. They're real...all of sudden. Also, look at their manipulation...what they value...how they perform. Because they will do the same to you in the future. I won't be here. I'm 76 and have, at most, another 20-30 years. Absolutely fascinating because I've always been keenly interested by what motivates people's behavior. Honestly, I think this was one of my primary missions in this life.

Naw. Dating sites never interested me. Anything on web which requires my divulging information I forego. Why the hell do they need that information from me? No, dear. I will not submit, and you will not sell my information to the highest bidder.

I'm thankful for, evidently, regaining my health after disastrous dental injections for two years. I successful avoided Covid injections and masking, but the dental injections got me. I've been on monolaurin, Bio-Fibrin, and spagyric tinctures by a master alchemist who is moving to WV to live off grid. I added cod liver oil for the Vit. D recommended by Klinghardt Institute for neurotoxin detox and found it cured my very painful arthritis which ensued a year ago. I had forgotten!! In my early 20s, in the erstwhile stone age of the early 1970s, I had encountered Dale Alexander who spoke about cod liver oil curing his mom's arthritis. Why didn't I remember? Anyway, I'm thankful that my pain is nearly gone (entirely!!), and I can live my life in my old age as I wish.

The Killers "Boots" made me cry. This is normal, everyday life for us...and it is beautiful. "Cinnamon candles burning"...because we couldn't stand those cinnamon candles but the people who did were beloved by us. We're not perfect...but who said that we were? Or that we must be perfect? We need only be ourselves. That's good enough.

Russia will soon deploy hypersonic missiles to a U.S. installation near you. NATO is a coward.

So many things feel out of our control. Sometimes it is best to focus in the kitchen on not burning the food. God bless and Happy Thanksgiving. The white wine sauce sounds delicious and the wine too!

Not quite. He'll get a 10 year green card. To qualify for expedited naturalization (married to a USC) he'd have to show both three years of being a legal permanent resident (aka green card holder) and having been married to a USC for three years, and living in the same USCIS district 90 days prior. Can apply 90 days prior to that date but with uscis systems and time stamping not recommended to do as soon as the window opens (people were rejected for filing one day prior).

If he weren't filing based on your marriage (in case of divorce for example) - it goes back to 5 year waiting period that any other LPR does.

This is good information to know for future reference. Oh was technically eligible for US Citizenship prior to us coming back to Thailand in early 2018 but he did not want to pursue it…

Cloud seeding - that's what they did in Dubai (twice) in February this year and ended up with massive floods. Look up Fargo Jet plus cloud seeding plus Romania. Countries are buying these planes for exactly this purpose - how it will end up no one knows.

Amy, how long have you and Ka been married? Was wondering if length of time had anything to do with your immigration challenges?

My friend was talking about an acquaintance who is 75 and getting ready to head to the Philippines to marry some Philly (hahaha). He said maybe she’s doing it for citizenship. I said normally I would have thought same but then I thought of you and then recently Riley Gaines situation.

LOL I tried to reply to this directly but the Substack privacy feature blocks the reply button, so I posted it above. We've been married for five years...

Seems like it replied to me ok..thanks. That’s definitely plenty of time. Are you good now tho you think? Last time you mentioned it seemed like you were finally on the right track. I joked about staying in Thailand as we might be blown to kingdom come haha.

I thought it was relatively simple as long as you went over seas and married the person. But you poor guys have been run thru the wringer. ☹️
