So here we are in Phuket, Thailand, trying to get some last minute documents together to finally get my husband a visa to come to the USA with me, and I see this posted on Coffee and Covid regarding Trump’s plans to handle the migrant problem in the USA:
Now Jeff Childers often has keen insights but he can be a bit too rah rah Republican for my taste lately. He sees this as a great thing:
“It may have only been one word, but it included four exclamation marks. I can’t decided which is more encouraging, the prospect of using the military to help process millions of deportations, or the irony that Trump will declare a national state of emergency and use emergency executive authority to do it.
In other words: the Democrats are about to be hoisted on their “state of emergency” petard. Prepare for Democrats to suddenly discover a meaningful definition of the word, “emergency.”
Call me a little suspicious of this. The president employing a state of emergency and then deploying military assets to help depose a minority population that is widely disliked sounds like a recipe for martial law and more. Imagine if Biden had deployed a state of emergency and troops to round up, I don’t know, “domestic terrorists”, or “misinformation spreaders” or “antivaxxers” in say 2021. A lot of people would have cheered this on, as we conspiracy theorists were holding everybody back from getting back to normal. My how the worm turns.
One person on Gab where I sometimes harvest memes (yes, it works again in Thailand) said, to widespread likes and salutes, that since the difference between legal and illegal immigrants is just a piece of paper, all foreign born people in the USA need to be deported back to wherever they came from. There was no consideration or thought given for how long the foreign born person had been in the USA, their family ties or their assets in the USA (and in many cases their complete and utter lack of any of those things in their country of birth). Such an absurd order would affect both of my daughters, for example, who were both born in Thailand. My older girl is only an American citizen, so I’m not sure she could get more than a 60 day tourist visa to stay in Thailand. Also, she doesn’t speak Thai. Even my younger daughter struggles greatly with the language.
So there’s some significant cohort of the US population who will presumably be looking to deport my husband before he even gets to America. I get to feel like I did in mid 2021 while not wearing a facemask in public. The 60 seconds of hate has turned to a new cohort.
Of course the implementation of mass deportations has a lot of logistical challenges. According to Google the foreign born population in the USA accounts for around 14% of the population or around 49 million people. That substantial subgroup includes naturalized US citizens who have been in America for decades along with people who crossed illegally in the past few years. Some of those migrants, such as those who came in illegally and then committed crimes against persons and property while in the United States, should be deported without prejudice. Others will go back of their own accord if the incentives are removed for them to be in the USA.
That still leaves a substantial cohort of unknowns and the possibility of a papers please martial law dragnet for the rest of us. It could spark into a civil war. It’s a situation that I’m watching.
This was an interesting report regarding couples in which one partner was positive for HIV while the other was not. There was no spreading of HIV even with unprotected sexual contact between them. The virus theory is a farce which was given the force of law:
There’s a side which feels that winning occurs when they make everyone else’s lives as short, painful, traumatic and difficult as they can. It’s a spiritual war.
Of course the powers that shouldn’t be seem to be itching for WWIII to start before Trump even takes office. Or is this a distraction to keep us glued to the screens with their fear and doom porn? A total destabilization and breakdown might topple their own power base, so it always has to be escalations that hurt the populations while not affecting the business interests of those at the very top. I’m hoping we’re still in the Ahrimatic stage of cold calculated evil rather than moving into the Sorathic stage of total annihilation.
I don’t have any answers to all of this, but I know I have to keep plugging ahead.
Why are all of the well paying jobs attached to enforcing the control grid on others?
Peace Out!
Given the ridiculous number of infant deaths, stillbirths, and lost pregnancies at all stages, as well as so many young people dying early, I have to wonder how 'life expectancy at birth' graphs can possibly be right. New retirement age is probably 50 at this point.
I'm all for LEGAL immigration of reasonable numbers of people who will contribute to the US.
I'm entirely against ILLEGAL immigration in all cases. No border means no country.
I do worry a bit about using the military but agree that mass deportation is needed to protect US jobs and lives, to reduce government spending on handouts, and to show respect to the people who immigrate legally.
