Regarding "fake" Christians like Russel Brand, I'm aware that not all who claim the name of Christ will be saved, but I try to reserve judgement. It's not because I'm fearful of being judged by the same measure, but because I've been doing this long enough that I no longer think I have all the answers. I was raised as a conservative Christian in a conservative church. I've delved into Biblical doctrine and history, Judaism, Buddhism, New Age thinking, Q and stoicism. I've spent time in the military and prison. I've gotten to know people from all walks of life. The more I've learned, the more I realize how little I know. Naked we came into this world, and naked we will return. The only thing that matters is what we do with what we have in this little dash between the "Born" and "Died" dates on our memorial rock. "Let us not waste time in arguing what makes a good man, just be one." Marcus Aurelius

Very well said Curtis. I've studied many different religious and spiritual backgrounds as well. Knowing how little you know is a mark of true wisdom. I have no idea what is going on with these people behind closed doors. I do see the Covid catastrophe as intimately tied to redemption however: some of them pushed a jab that is still killing and maiming to this day. Much like with Trump if there is no public mea culpa on this matter I'm much less interested in what they have to say about anything else...

You ask some great questions. Yes, Christianity gets highjacked like everything that can be good or bad. There’s Jesus and there’s Torquemada, protests and riots, sunshine and sunstroke, chocolate and Cocoa Puffs. Maybe we should weigh binaries and lean into the best side of the spectrum, like love instead of obsession. I don’t know if this supports that thesis, but I like it: “Moderation in all things, especially moderation” (Emerson).

It’s almost too easy to doubt Russell Brand’s conversion. Judging his past, some are convinced he’s up to a new grift. On the other hand, the worst people can have the most amazing changes of heart. E.g., Saul of Tarsus becoming Apostle Paul. Fair questions: Will Brand bear good fruit, or is he a $15 Brand of fruit cup?

LOL on the $15 fruit cup! I see people who have undergone a genuine conversion in thinking I am certainly one of them. I will reserve judgement though the timing I suppose looks too coordinated and advertising money backed for me, which I'd dare say is the opposite of a Christ consciousness thing to do, eg making false utterances or bearing false witness. Know them by the fruit they bear indeed!

As I stated, I don't judge Brand one way or another. I believe Christianity is much simpler than most Christians make it. Ultimately we will stand in front of our Creator, spiritually naked, either alone or with Christ to advocate for us. Since I was very, very young, I wondered how a person who hadn't any opportunity to learn about Jesus could be eternally damned to eternal torment by a perfectly good God, and I've yet to find a satisfactory answer. Instead of rejecting God as many choose to do, I accept that God is God and I am not, and all will be made plain when I return to Him, and it won't turn out to be some spiritually gymnastic exercise, but simple and pure and good.

First I’ve seen it. https://t.co/c1JamCk49x “Simpler than most Christians make it” and less complicated than non-Christians expect it. Yes, who are we to judge? “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundations? Tell me, if you understand” (Job 38:4). He’ll be under the microscope. "Lesser” Christians change a lot of hearts, and “bigger” ones fall, so this will be interesting. “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded” (Luke 12:48).

Check out Russell Brand's YouTube video about his baptism if you haven't. He rings truer to my heart than any televangelist I've heard, but that's not a very high bar to clear. 😁

I am concerned that Trump groupies are deluded and believe Trump is their savior. He is not. I voted for him. we are always given two bad choices.I chose the lesser of the two evils. Then he gave us the kill shots. That Peterson guy is also messed up. Brand is a wolf. And so forth and so on...........

Trump as the Messiah works best subconsciously which is why I am bringing it to conscious awareness where it will not stand up to serious scrutiny. I did not vote for Trump though I do consider him the lesser of two evils. But he never apologized for the lockdowns, Operation Warp speed or any of the rest so I suspect that he is ultimately a plant for the welfare-warfare state. I've also heard accounts of actual Epstein Island stuff that I tend to believe regarding Trump, though I am suspect of the supposed rape and sexual harassment victims brought forward for trial. Willingness to give up some top layers of fake TDS attention whores does not mean that the guy is clean as the fallen snow...

I see deceit as the primary energy of our time. It shows up everywhere, including how people use the name of Christ.

Thanks for beautiful posts & happy travels!

Keep in mind that any group that meets once a week like Christians will always attract the watchful eyes of nervous state power.

Perhaps I should pay closer attention.
